Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director for Global Learning & Development in Oncology to guide learning strategy, align business leaders with development goals, and drive impactful learning solutions. You will partner with design teams, HR partners, and external collaborators to accelerate capability development across the Oncology unit.

The role emphasizes translating business priorities into learning experiences, measuring outcomes, and managing a diverse portfolio across a global network.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Combination of experience in facilitating / delivering learning solutions, sales and/or relevant pharmaceutical/oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for Oncology Business Leaders.
• Align leaders on implications of decisions on learning and development outcomes.
• Develop business understanding to maximize impact on outcomes.
• Determine learning strategies to meet business requirements with GL&D and external partners.
• Prioritize portfolio of work and learner experience; align with GL&D.
• Provide input to curriculum design for relevant learner experiences.
• Collaborate with HR partners to integrate learning with talent initiatives.
• Deliver training and support local SMEs when needed.
• Measure and report impact of programs; use data to improve outcomes.
• Ensure coherent, efficient, strategically aligned L&D planning and implementation.
• Coach and build capability of local L&D colleagues or SMEs.
• Forecast accurately and manage project risks.
