Job summary

Merck seeks an Associate Director to lead Global Learning & Development within the Oncology unit. The role advices business leaders, translates business goals into learning strategies, and delivers effective design and delivery through a global network.

You will sponsor L&D initiatives and align with HR partners to integrate learning with talent programs. You will manage a portfolio, forecast and manage risks, and champion learner experience at all levels, driving measurable business outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Combination of experience in facilitating/delivering learning solutions, sales and/or relevant pharmaceutical/oncology experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for the Oncology Business Leaders.
• Align business leaders on implications of decisions on learning and development and sustainable business results.
• Develop depth of business understanding to maximize impact on outcomes.
• Determine learning strategies and plans to meet business requirements in collaboration with GL&D and external partners.
• Prioritize and manage portfolio of work and Learner Experience; align plans across GL&D.
• Create line of sight for divisional clients into short-, mid-, and long-term L&D plans and build sponsorship.
• Contribute to curriculum design and development to ensure business relevance and engagement.
• Collaborate with HR to integrate learning with other talent initiatives.
• Deliver training or support local SMEs as needed.
• Partner with the business to define outcomes and measure impact against metrics.
• Ensure coherent, efficient, and strategically aligned L&D planning and implementation.
• Deliver or facilitate content; coach local L&D colleagues or SMEs as needed.
• Forecast accurately and manage project risks.
