Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area, supporting development of next‑generation flight service and air traffic systems.

This hybrid role splits half the time on hands‑on cloud‑native Java microservices and half on Scrum Master duties, enabling agile delivery in a safety‑critical environment. You will work with cross‑functional teams and leverage modern DevSecOps practices to ensure dependable, scalable software for FAA programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS with 8+ years of relevant experience or a Doctorate
• 5+ years designing, developing, and reviewing Java applications
• 2+ years Scrum Master on SAFe agile teams in large-scale environments
• Experience with web front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and RESTful APIs

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production-quality cloud-native Java microservices
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate agile ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement
• Leverage DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate secure software delivery
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer and stakeholders to communicate status, risks, and dependencies
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues across environments
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration for sprint execution
