Job summary

Leidos Inc is seeking a Java Software Engineer – Scrum Master to strengthen the Air Traffic Business Area in the Homeland Sector. The role blends hands-on Java development with Scrum Master duties for an Agile team, in a highly regulated, cloud-native environment aiding FAA modernization efforts.

Ideal candidates combine 4+ years of Java delivery experience with SAFe Scrum Master exposure, strong frontend skills (React), and competent DevSecOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of experience or a Master's with 2+ years.
• 3+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 1+ years serving as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale environment.
• Deep experience with Web development and frontend tools (React/HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
• Strong unit testing with JUnit and Mockito.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and XSD.
• Proficiency with Spring Framework, Spring Security, and Spring Boot.
• Linux experience and familiarity with Git or Subversion.
• Familiarity with IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code) and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to obtain SF-85 (Public Trust).
• U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production cloud-native Java microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, drive continuous improvement, deliver sprint outcomes.
• Leverage DevSecOps practices and CI/CD to accelerate secure software delivery.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer and stakeholders to report risks and progress.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution across environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster cross-team collaboration for successful sprint execution.
