Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector. This hybrid role splits time between hands-on cloud-native Java microservices development and SAFe Agile Scrum Master responsibilities for an enterprise software program used in regulated air traffic environments.

The candidate will work in a scaled Agile setup, with focus on secure development practices, CI/CD, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. U.S.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience or a Master\'s with 6+ years.
• 5+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 2+ years as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale software environment.
• Extensive Web development experience (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with unit testing tools (JUnit, Mockito).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, XSD.
• Significant experience with Spring Framework, Spring Security, Spring Boot.
• Significant experience with Linux and version control (Git or Subversion).
• Experience with IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code).
• Strong software development principles and communication skills.
• Ability to obtain SF-85 Public Trust (Tier 2); US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, deploy, and maintain production-quality cloud-native Java microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master responsibilities: facilitate ceremonies, remove impediments, promote continuous improvement, and help the team deliver sprint outcomes.
• Leverage DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, AI-assisted development tools, and engineering best practices to accelerate delivery of secure software.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer, management, and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate status, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress.
• Support deployment, operational troubleshooting, and resolution of issues in development, test, and production environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across teams to ensure sprint execution and project delivery.
