Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Java Software Engineer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area within the Homeland Sector, supporting next‑generation flight service and air traffic systems.

This hybrid role splits roughly 50% toward hands‑on software engineering and 50% Scrum Master responsibilities, within a regulated, safety‑critical environment. U.S. citizenship and SF‑85P suitability are required for FAA contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 2+ years of experience.
• 3+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 1+ years as Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in large-scale software development.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, review, and maintain production‑quality cloud‑native Java microservices.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, promote continuous improvement and help deliver predictable sprint outcomes.
• Leverage DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools to accelerate secure software delivery.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer, management, and stakeholders to communicate status, risks, dependencies, and progress.
• Support deployment, operational troubleshooting, and issue resolution in development, test, and production.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster collaboration across teams for successful sprint execution.
