Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Java Software Engineer - Scrum Master to join the Air Traffic Business Area in the Homeland Sector. The hybrid role splits roughly 50/50 between hands-on Java development of cloud-native microservices and Scrum Master responsibilities, guiding an Agile team within a SAFe framework.

Candidate will work with cross-functional teams to deliver secure software in a regulated, safety-critical environment, while leveraging DevSecOps, CI/CD, and modern tooling.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing, developing, testing, and reviewing Java applications.
• 1+ years as a Scrum Master on a SAFe Agile team in a large-scale software environment.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and front-end technologies (React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with Spring, Spring Security, and Spring Boot; Linux; Git or Subversion; and common IDEs (Eclipse, VS Code).
• Ability to obtain SF‑85 Public Trust (Tier 2) suitability; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Approximately 50% hands-on software engineering: design, develop, test, review, and maintain production Java microservices.
• Approximately 50% Scrum Master duties: facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove impediments, ensure sprint predictability.
• Leverage DevSecOps practices and CI/CD to accelerate secure software delivery.
• Coordinate with Release Train Engineer and stakeholders to communicate status and risks.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting, and operations in various environments.
• Mentor junior engineers and foster cross-team collaboration.
