Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Senior Java Engineer to join our Online Banking delivery team in a remote capacity across the United States. You will lead development and support for Digital Banking solutions, focusing on core banking and integrations.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and deliver scalable, secure code while navigating complex systems and API ecosystems such as REST, SpringBoot microservices, and containerized deployments with Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on Java/J2EE experience.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly with cross-functional teams.
• Strong design and development experience with enterprise technologies (JEE, JMS, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate).
• Experience building SpringBoot microservices and containerized apps with Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions for functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Oversee maintenance of SaaS and on-premise applications in Digital Banking and related spaces.
• Troubleshoot defects and data/configuration issues; determine origin of errors.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices across the team.
