Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Senior Java Engineer to join our Online Banking delivery team. This role will contribute to Digital Banking, Core banking, Cards and Foreign Exchange, providing technical guidance, development, testing and production support across multiple platforms.

You will design and build real-time and file-based integrations, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices while delivering secure, scalable solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring, Kubernetes, API

Qualifications

• 8–10 years hands-on Java/J2EE experience.
• Excellent ability to communicate technical information across cross-functional teams.
• Strong design and development experience with enterprise technologies (JEE, JMS, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate).
• Experience building SpringBoot microservices.
• Experience with container architecture (Kubernetes).
• Public API development experience and API Gateway like APIGEE.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions meeting functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.
• Oversee maintenance of digital banking and related applications to ensure stability and scale.
• Troubleshoot defects and data/configuration problems; identify root cause.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth.
• Drive best practices and adherence to standards.
• Develop real-time and file-based integrations and optimize database processing.
