Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to design, develop, and support cloud-native applications that power business outcomes and deliver strong user experiences. Based in the United States, you will collaborate with architects, product owners, and developers to deliver scalable solutions across AWS, Java, and Kubernetes, while adhering to security, reliability, and CI/CD practices.

This role requires working with distributed teams and client stakeholders, mainly during East Coast

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience developing enterprise applications using Java (8/11/17+).
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot, including RESTful services and microservices development.
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS, including services such as DynamoDB, S3, IAM, and Serverless technologies.
• Strong understanding of AWS Kubernetes (K8s) cloud technologies and event-driven architecture patterns.
• Experience developing and maintaining Spring Batch applications for large-scale batch processing.
• Experience building and consuming APIs using REST, JSON, and OpenAPI specifications.
• Strong knowledge of AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
• Strong experience with non-relational databases, particularly DynamoDB.
• Experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and GitHub Actions.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex production issues.
• Strong understanding of software development best practices, application performance, and scalability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support cloud-native applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS, and Kubernetes technologies.
• Build and maintain scalable microservices, serverless applications, and event-driven architectures.
• Develop batch processing solutions using Spring Batch to support large-scale data processing requirements.
• Create and consume RESTful APIs while ensuring performance, security, scalability, and reliability standards are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues through monitoring, observability, and root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies and CI/CD best practices to deliver high-quality software solutions.
