Heartland Business Systems is seeking a Senior Escalation Engineer to act as the high-level technical point of escalation, diagnosing complex issues and guiding improvements. You will mentor Tier 1/2 teams, lead major upgrades, and coordinate with vendors to resolve critical incidents.

The role emphasizes networking, systems engineering, and security, with a strong focus on proactive maintenance and compliance. A blended skill set and professional demeanor are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an IT service role, systems administration, and/or network administration.
• 3+ years designing, implementing, and/or supporting client networks/systems in a managed services role.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Three or more certifications: CCNA, Network+, Server+, Microsoft O365 or Azure (non-fundamentals).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the high-level escalation point for complex incidents and requests.
• Troubleshoot advanced issues across servers, networks, cloud platforms, and security systems.
• Lead root cause analyses and implement long-term corrective actions.
• Mentor Tier 1/2 technicians to reduce escalations and improve skills.
• Lead upgrades, migrations, and major changes for servers, networks, and apps.
• Assist with incident response, vulnerability remediation, and security audits.
