Job summary

Red1, a full-service commercial IT firm based in the Bradenton–Sarasota area, is seeking a Senior IT Support Technician to join a hybrid team. You will escalate complex issues, mentor junior technicians, and provide Tier 2/3 remote support for desktops, servers, networking, and cloud systems.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on IT support, strong Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking, and security expertise, plus virtualization experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on IT support experience in a commercial or enterprise environment.
• Must live in the United States.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls), and security best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, Proxmox, XCP-Ng) preferred.
• Familiarity with VoIP systems, access control, and security systems a plus.
• Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft, Cisco) strongly preferred.
• NOTE: A technical skills test will be administered prior to hiring.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 remote support for desktops, servers, networking, and cloud systems.
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues.
• Configure, maintain, and optimize Windows and/or Linux servers, firewalls, and network infrastructure.
• Administer Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and other enterprise cloud platforms.
• Assist with network design, configuration, and documentation.
• Act as a technical lead for escalated service tickets and client projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior IT support staff.
