Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage in California seeks an IT Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day IT infrastructure, security, and ITGC/compliance activities. You will own reliability, performance, and control design for the company’s technology environment.

In this role, you’ll drive SOX compliance, coordinate with internal teams and external auditors, and ensure business continuity across networks, servers, and cloud platforms while maintaining strong risk controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field.
• 5+ years in IT ops, systems/admin, or infra management.
• Strong networking, server admin, and cloud security knowledge.
• Familiarity with SOX/ITGC and SoD concepts.
• Experience with GRC platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily IT infrastructure operations (networks, servers, cloud, end-user systems).
• Owns ITGC design and automated controls monitoring.
• Develops IT policies around security, access, and data protection.
• Monitors performance, troubleshoots issues, and performs root-cause analysis.
• Ensures IT security and regulatory compliance, including PCI.
• Manages business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
• Supports SOX compliance and evidence collection with auditors.
• Directs provisioning/deprovisioning and permissions management.
