Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage in California seeks an IT Operations Manager to lead day-to-day management of the company’s technology infrastructure, systems, and support functions. You will own reliability, security, and performance of the IT environment, including ITGC and SOX compliance.

Reporting to the IT Director, you will guide IT policies, monitor performance, ensure disaster recovery, and collaborate with internal teams and auditors to drive risk-aware improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), and security.
• Experience with SSAE 18 (SOC 1/SOC 2) and SoD concepts.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily IT infrastructure operations including networks, servers, and cloud environments.
• Owns ITGC design, monitoring, and automated controls.
• Develops security policies and access controls.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery testing.
• Maintains PCI and other regulatory compliance.
