Job summary

SmartStop Self Storage is seeking an IT Operations Manager to lead daily IT infrastructure, ensure security, reliability, and SOX compliance. The role reports to the IT Director and focuses on governance, risk, and control execution across networks, servers, and cloud environments.

Based at the Ladera Ranch, CA headquarters, this on-site position requires 5+ years in IT operations, strong communication, and a proactive approach to controls testing and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT-related field.
• 5+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure management.
• Strong knowledge of networking, servers, cloud platforms and security best practices.
• Familiarity with SSAE 18 (SOC 1/SOC 2) and SoD concepts.
• Experience with Governance, Risk and Compliance platforms.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily IT infrastructure operations including networks and servers.
• Owns ITGC design, monitoring and automated controls.
• Develops IT security policies, access controls, and data protection standards.
• Monitors performance, troubleshoots, and conducts root-cause analysis.
• Ensures business continuity and disaster recovery plans are current.
• Leads end‑to‑end annual IT SOX compliance activities.
• Collaborates with internal teams and external auditors.
