Job summary

OpenKrill is seeking a Senior IT Automation Engineer, a remote-friendly role in the United States, to lead enterprise automation initiatives and AI-driven workflows. You will shape standards for an Automation and Agentic AI Center of Excellence while owning the automation platform ecosystem and ensuring secure, scalable integrations across business systems.

You will work across IT, engineering, and business teams to identify bottlenecks, design modular workflows, and drive adoption of Claude,

Qualifications

Ideally 7+ years in automation engineering, systems integration or technical leadership.
Experience defining automation roadmaps and guiding initiatives from concept to adoption.
Hands-on with enterprise workflow automation platforms and API-based integrations.
Familiarity with Azure ecosystem and security controls.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional automation initiatives to scale operations and improve employee experience.
Own enterprise automation and integration ecosystem including Zapier and connected apps.
Establish and operate an Automation Center of Excellence with governance and documentation standards.
Develop reusable frameworks and patterns for self-service automation.
Collaborate with AI teams to enable responsible AI adoption and governance.
Design secure, modular automation workflows with least-privilege access.
Assess processes to identify automation opportunities and roadmaps for leadership.
Re-engineer workflows using AI-powered tools while maintaining human oversight.
Translate business objectives into actionable automation strategies with measurable outcomes.
Evaluate new tools for security and enterprise suitability.
Set best practices for development, deployment, and monitoring.
Partner with IT to troubleshoot integration issues and optimize solutions.
Communicate decisions and progress to engineers, partners, and executives.
