Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Sr. Process and Tooling Engineer to lead all aspects of Blow Molding tooling, process development, validation, and qualification across manufacturing sites.

You will act as a technical lead bridging Product Development, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and vendors to ensure safety, quality, and performance meet customer expectations. The role requires extensive ISBM tooling experience, mold design understanding, DOE and SPC proficiency, and a track record of production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ME/EE/Manufacturing/Plastics or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in plastics packaging manufacturing, process engineering, tooling engineering or related field.
• Experience with Injection Stretch Blow M molding (ISBM) tooling and vendors.
• Experience with mold qualification, validation, process optimization, and troubleshooting.
• PET packaging industry experience strongly preferred.
• Experience conducting process capability studies, DOE, and statistical analysis preferred.
• Experience supporting production startup and manufacturing operations strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Blow Molding machinery, process, tooling, container handling equipment, and downstream systems.
• Understanding of mold design, hot runner systems, and tooling functionality.
• Experience with CAD software and engineering drawings.
• Familiarity with SAP, Windchill, Salesforce, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of SPC, validation methodology, and quality systems beneficial.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, process controls, machine functionality, and automation systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all mold sampling, process qualification, and validation activities for new, replacement, and rebuilt molds.
• Optimize molding processes to achieve dimensional, visual, and performance specifications at designed cycle times.
• Establish validated baseline processes and maintain standardized Master Process Sheets.
• Create and maintain Process of Adjustment (POA) documentation and baseline operating parameters.
• Support machine startups involving new, transferred, modified, or repaired tooling and machines.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting processes, machines, tooling, quality, and productivity issues.
• Perform process capability studies, statistical analysis, DOE, and validation testing.
• Conduct tooling and equipment qualification activities at vendor and manufacturing locations.
• Recommend tooling modifications and process improvements based on engineering studies and production data.
• Support reduction of scraps, improvement of line efficiencies, and optimization of overall equipment effectiveness.
• Assist plants with process validations, capability studies, and production readiness assessments.
• Evaluate compatibility of tooling across production platforms and manufacturing locations.
• Maintain databases of tooling, process conditions, machinery, hot runner systems, and production equipment.
• Lead investigations related to process variation, tooling performance, and customer quality concerns.
