Job summary
Amcor in Detroit, MI is hiring a Sr. Process and Tooling Engineer to lead ISBM tooling development, qualification, and validation across manufacturing operations.
You will manage projects from concept through implementation and provide technical leadership in mold design, process optimization, and equipment validation. You will collaborate with Product Development, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and vendors to ensure tooling and processes meet safety, quality, and customer requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years in plastics packaging manufacturing, process or tooling engineering.
- Experience with ISBM tooling, mold qualification, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with production startups and manufacturing operations preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead ISBM tooling project management from concept through implementation.
- Define, document, and manage tooling requirements and BOMs.
- Interface with Product Development and R&D to ensure tooling meets standards.
- Perform process capability studies, DOE, and validation testing.
- Provide technical support for production startups and tooling issues.
