Job summary

Coverys is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to plan and direct analysis of complex business problems solvable via automated systems. You will collaborate with business partners, developers, testers, scrum leads, product owners, data teams and project managers to craft software specs, perform impact analysis and verify solutions meet requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required from a four-year college or university.
Five or more years of related experience and/or training.
Experience in the insurance industry is required.
Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, risk assessment and policy lifecycle.
Experience with externally facing applications coordination with Legal, Security and Communications preferred.
Broad knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Suite.
Broad knowledge of SDLC methodologies.
Experience with automated testing tools, QA best practices and SQL queries.
Excellent analytical and problem resolution skills.
Strong attention to detail, deadlines and quality results.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Ability to interact with a wide variety of clients internally and externally.
Willingness for occasional travel (<=10%).
Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Elicit, analyze and document business and system requirements with strong decomposition skills (epics → features → user stories → acceptance criteria).
Communicate changes affecting multiple systems/modules to ensure awareness and alignment.
Independently facilitate stakeholder alignment across business and IT.
Lead workshops, discovery sessions and stakeholder interviews.
Document business needs, objectives, data scope, usage, formatting and security requirements.
Document nonfunctional requirements ensuring HIPAA compliance and data privacy.
Perform process mapping, data analysis, wireframing and prototyping for design phase.
Support Agile delivery, backlog management and prioritization.
Translate needs into functional and technical specs and own the specs document.
Capture acceptance criteria with Product owners.
Coordinate testing with teams and validate outcomes.
Support UAT to ensure requirements are met.
Ensure traceability from requirements through delivery.
Document post-implementation issues and revision requests.
Assist with user training and documentation as needed.
