Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Senior Counsel to independently manage a caseload of high exposure and complex defense matters across the U.S. You will leverage extensive trial experience to secure favorable outcomes for insured clients and collaborate with Claim partners on file strategies.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of insurance defense litigation, strong oral and written advocacy, and a track record of courtroom success.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international law degree is required.
• Active license to practice law in the required state or states.
• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong trial experience with jury cases and courtroom outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of high exposure cases and complex litigation.
• Apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and craft persuasive writing.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and other proceedings.
• Mentor junior attorneys and coordinate with internal partners.
