Travelers Insurance seeks a Senior Counsel to independently manage a caseload of high-exposure cases and more complex litigation matters. You will leverage trial experience to drive cases to verdict or negotiated resolutions, and mentor junior attorneys while maintaining strong client relationships.

The role requires 7+ years in insurance defense litigation, exceptional advocacy, and the ability to communicate complex matters clearly to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience as a practicing attorney.
• Strong trial experience and proven jury trial results.
• Ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy with track record of success.
• Knowledge of bench, bar and local jurisdiction practices.
• Strong leadership through mentoring and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-exposure cases and complex litigation independently.
• Apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and persuasive writing.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and strategy recommendations to clients and partners.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and testimonies.
• Mentor attorneys and support staff; contribute to office goals.
