Travelers is seeking a Senior Counsel in the Atlanta region to independently handle high-exposure insurance defense matters from inception through trial.

You will leverage advanced litigation skills, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with experts to achieve favorable outcomes for insured clients while maintaining strong client relationships. Travel may be required to support business needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong aptitude for trying cases to a jury with a record of courtroom outcomes.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy skills.
• Knowledge of bench and bar practices within relevant jurisdictions.
• Leadership through mentoring and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle a caseload of high-exposure cases from inception through trial.
• Apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct advanced legal research and produce persuasive writing and presentations.
• Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs and discovery.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and strategy recommendations to insured clients and partners.
• Collaborate with experts to develop case strategies and testimony.
