Job summary

Kin Insurance is seeking an Insurance Counsel - Forms to drive policy language for state expansion and new products. You will draft and review forms for personal auto or property, conduct statutory research, and ensure regulatory compliance across multiple states.

You will advise internal teams on coverage interpretation, respond to DOI objections, and help build reusable form packages. This is a remote-first role with growth opportunities in a fast-growing insurance tech company.

Qualifications

• JD required and licensed to practice law.
• 5+ years of policy form drafting or related experience.
• Experience drafting personal lines forms for multiple states.
• Ability to translate statutes into clear policy language.
• Experience responding to regulator objections.

Responsibilities

• Research state statutes and regulations and translate into compliant policy wording.
• Draft responses to regulator objections on forms and advocate Kin's position with regulators.
• Advise internal partners on coverage interpretation and form wording.
• Draft complete new state and product forms packages for your line of business for filing.
• Perform first-pass legal review and elevate novel state law questions to Senior Insurance Counsel.
• Build and maintain base forms and state kits for the line, including required notices.
• Establish drafting standards and reusable language for faster state packages.
• Design and deliver internal training on policy forms and regulatory expectations.
• Serve as backup drafter for the other line of business.
