Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced inpatient coder to review and assign diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS. The role supports mixed inpatient services across multiple specialties, operating full-time with a standard 40-hour week.

Candidates should have an Associate’s Degree in Health Information Management, 7 years inpatient coding experience, and HIPAA/compliance awareness. On-site work with opportunities for continued education and career growth.

Qualifications

• 7 years inpatient coding in acute care setting.
• Experience with Revenue Cycle processes and CDI.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Ensure code selections follow Official Coding Guidelines and regulations.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards (DNFB) and assist with audits.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to ensure DRG alignment.
• Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines and educational resources.
