Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Full-time Inpatient Coder for the 10407 Enterprise Revenue Cycle team in New Mexico. The role involves coding inpatient documentation using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS with a high standard of accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities include auditing complex cases, collaborating with CDI and quality teams, and maintaining certification and ongoing education while meeting productivity targets. Remote work is possible for eligible states, including NM.

Qualifications

• 7 years' inpatient coding experience in an acute care facility, including revenue cycle, CDI, and health information workflows.
• In-depth knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced medical terminology, anatomy & physiology.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign accurate codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS.
• Maintain coding accuracy and meet quality (95%+) and productivity (100%) standards.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to ensure DRG accuracy.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and participate in payer audits as needed.
• Communicate with clinical teams regarding coding updates and coding clinic changes.
