Job summary

Advocate Health seeks an experienced inpatient coder to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS codes for complex cases within a high-volume revenue cycle. This full-time role supports inpatient community and academic coding across multiple service lines, with a 40-hour week and standard Monday–Friday schedule.

Candidates must hold an AHIMA or AAPC coding certification and an Associate's Degree in Health Information Management. Remote work may be approved from listed states, including Florida.

Qualifications

• Advanced ICD, CPT and HCPCS coding knowledge with high accuracy.
• Strong medical terminology, anatomy and physiology understanding.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic coding systems.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review complex inpatient documentation to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS codes.
• Ensure correct code selection per official guidelines and regulations.
• Code high dollar and long LOS cases across patient types.
• Collaborate with CDI and Quality teams to align DRG and Medicare cases.
• Participate in payer audits and clinical team meetings.
