Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an Hospital Coder Inpatient Senior Coder to serve as an expert in reviewing and coding complex inpatient records using ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and MS-DRG/APR-DRG methods. This role acts as SME within coding, mentors staff, and collaborates with CDI, quality, and revenue cycle teams to ensure compliant reimbursement.

Minimum requirements include CCS certification, a high school diploma or associate degree, four years of hospital coding experience, encoder experience, and

Qualifications

• CCS certification required.
• Four years hospital coding experience.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG.
• Proficient in encoder and EMR systems.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review and code complex inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG.
• Serve as SME on DRGs and regulatory updates.
• Mentor staff and collaborate with CDI, quality, and revenue cycle teams.
• Provide feedback and contribute to coding policy and training.
• Support audits and corrective action processes.
