Job summary

Argo Group, a specialty property and casualty underwriter, seeks an experienced production underwriter. You will market, underwrite, and process submissions while mentoring staff. The role supports remote or on-site work during standard hours and involves travel up to 20%.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of underwriting experience, strong broker relationships, and a drive to exceed customer expectations. A Bachelor’s degree and professional designations are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• Desire for ongoing professional development and certifications encouraged.
• IIA/CPCU designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewals for assigned area.
• Maintain broker communications and marketing initiatives.
• Develop broker relations and establish new relationships in targeted territories.
• Participate in client and broker meetings and build a submission pipeline.
• Use market intelligence to underwrite profitably and cross-sell products.
• Travel approximately 20% as needed.
