Job summary

Argo Group is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Inland Marine to lead underwriting and marketing efforts, prioritizing strong broker relations and profitable growth. This role supports both remote and on-site work arrangements during standard business hours.

The ideal candidate brings five years of underwriting experience with authority, a proactive mindset, and a track record of delivering results while maintaining exceptional client interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of five years underwriting experience with authority.
• IIA and CPCU designations strongly preferred.
• Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new business and renewal submissions for Inland Marine.
• Maintain strong marketing to retail and wholesale brokers and communicate our products and services.
• Develop and nurture broker relationships across targeted territories.
• Participate in client and broker meetings to present underwriting positions.
• Develop and maintain a submission pipeline to achieve production and mix objectives.
• Leverage market contacts to source new business and cross-sell other products.
