Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC in the United States seeks a Process Engineer to oversee mold sampling, qualification and validation for new and rebuilt tools across injection stretch blow molding. You will coordinate with plant technical roles to support startups and improvements, and document best practices throughout operations.

The role emphasizes process optimization, DOE studies, mastering process sheets, and providing training to plant personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to understand, influence, drive and negotiate with internal and external customers.
• Strong management, communication and people skills required to influence and manage multiple resources.
• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Minimum of 5 years' processing experience in the plastics packaging industry.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of mold samplings & qualification services on new, replacement or rebuilt tools.
• Optimize the molding process to obtain dimensional limits at the designed cycle time or less.
• Create and maintain standardized Master Process Sheets for defined injection or blow molding process.
• Attend new project meetings, design reviews and tool specification meetings as required.
• Trains salary and hourly plant personnel in technical areas as directed by corporate and plant management.
• Provide Manufacturing Support to assist in solving production issues related to machine, process, tooling/design.
• Support plants with equipment, process, capability studies and tooling qualifications/validations as needed.
• Perform and establish the tools and equipment qualification approval at the vendor locations.
• Lead in-house training on injection or blow mold tooling maintenance with vendors.
