Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team to own foundational infrastructure and the internal developer platform across multiple products. You will design, build, and operate end-to-end, spanning cloud foundation, Kubernetes, release workflows, and security controls.

You’ll work hands-on to shape architecture, write the code that matters most, and set patterns used by many teams. The role emphasizes HIPAA/SOC 2 readiness and rapid delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles.
• Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset.
• Experience with public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and managed services.
• Experience with on-prem or hybrid environments and cloud migrations.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Experience with controller-based infrastructure management (Crossplane, Kubernetes operators).
• Experience with service mesh and SDN.
• Experience with GitOps and progressive delivery (Argo CD, Flux, Kargo).
• Experience with observability stack (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, finance) with HIPAA and SOC 2 obligations.

Responsibilities

• Build out the internal developer platform, including golden-path templates and self-serve tooling.
• Own the cloud foundation infrastructure managed as code (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Run the Kubernetes fleet: lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling, multi-cluster patterns.
• Design traffic and network layer: service mesh, ingress, mTLS, routing and canary deployments.
• Own release/deployment story with GitOps (Argo CD).
• Own observability stack with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
• Build zero-trust access for internal/external systems with secure-by-default patterns.
