Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Infrastructure team to own the foundational infrastructure and internal developer platform used by all engineering teams. You will design, build, and operate end-to-end, shaping patterns and tooling across products.

You will manage cloud foundations (GCP/AWS/Azure) and Kubernetes fleets, drive release and deployment with GitOps (Argo CD), and lead observability efforts with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles.
• Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset (developers as customers).
• Experience with public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Experience with controller-based infra management (Crossplane, Kubernetes operators).
• Experience with service mesh and SDN.

Responsibilities

• Build out the internal developer platform: templates, self-serve tooling, local dev environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Own the cloud foundation: GCP, AWS, and Azure infrastructure managed as code with Terraform and Kubernetes-based provisioning.
• Run the Kubernetes fleet: cluster lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling, multi-cluster patterns, Helm packaging.
• Design the traffic and network layer: service mesh, ingress, mTLS, routing, canary, circuit-breaking.
• Own the release and deployment story with Argo CD and GitOps workflows.
• Own the observability stack: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, tracing and logging.
• Build out zero-trust access to internal/external systems.
• Partner with Security on secrets management and HIPAA/SOC 2 compliance.
