Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team to own foundational infrastructure and an internal developer platform used by all engineering teams. You will design, build, and operate end‑to‑end across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments, with a focus on IaC, Kubernetes, and GitOps.

You will drive modernization of the platform stack, enabling rapid development with secure, scalable foundations and close collaboration with security and product teams.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or site reliability engineering roles.
• Experience building internal developer platforms with a strong product mindset.
• Experience with public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and on‑prem/hybrid environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Experience with controller‑based infrastructure management (Crossplane, Kubernetes operators).
• Experience with service mesh technologies and modern release workflows (GitOps).
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
• Experience in regulated industries (healthcare/financial) with HIPAA/SOC 2 obligations.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal developer platform end‑to‑end, including golden‑path templates and self‑serve tooling.
• Manage cloud foundation via IaC across GCP/AWS/Azure with Terraform and Kubernetes controllers.
• Orchestrate the Kubernetes fleet, upgrades, autoscaling, and multi‑cluster patterns.
• Design traffic and network layer with service mesh, ingress, mTLS, and routing strategies.
• Own release/deployment with Argo CD; implement GitOps workflows and progressive delivery.
• Own observability stack with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana dashboards.
• Implement zero‑trust access and secure connectivity, aligning with HIPAA/SOC 2 by default.
