Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team to own foundational infrastructure and the internal developer platform used by all engineering teams. You will design, build, and operate end-to-end across cloud and on-prem environments, with IaC, Kubernetes, and GitOps at the core.

You will lead the evolution of our cloud foundation, run the Kubernetes fleet, and shape service mesh, observability, and security patterns beneficial to HIPAA-compliant healthcare software.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or SRE roles.
• Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset.
• Experience with public cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and managed services.
• Experience with on-prem or hybrid environments and data center/cloud migrations.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies and IaC tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own the internal developer platform end-to-end with golden-path templates and self-serve tooling.
• Manage cloud foundation with Terraform and controller-based provisioning.
• Run the Kubernetes fleet including cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and multi-cluster patterns.
• Design traffic and network layer including service mesh and routing.
• Own the release/deploy story with GitOps (Argo CD).
• Maintain observability stack with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Implement zero-trust access and secure connectivity.
• Collaborate with Security on secrets, policy-as-code, and HIPAA/SOC2 defaults.
