Job summary

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on the Infrastructure team to own the foundational infrastructure and internal developer platform that every other engineering team builds on. This horizontal role involves designing, building, and operating end-to-end infrastructure.

You will own cloud foundations across GCP/AWS/Azure, manage Kubernetes operators, and advance GitOps with Argo CD. The work emphasizes secure, observable, and scalable systems in healthcare.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering in infra, platform, or SRE roles.
• Experience building internal developer platforms with a product mindset.
• Proficient in public cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure) and on-prem/hybrid migrations.
• Hands-on with IaC (Terraform, Pulumi) and crossplane/kubernetes operators.
• Familiar with service mesh and SDN, and GitOps workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build the internal developer platform with golden-path templates and self-serve tooling.
• Own cloud foundation infrastructure as code and Kubernetes operator provisioning.
• Run the Kubernetes fleet: lifecycle, upgrades, autoscaling, multi-cluster patterns.
• Design traffic and network layer: service mesh, ingress, mTLS, and routing.
• Own release/deployment with Argo CD and GitOps, progressive delivery and rollbacks.
• Own observability stack: OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and distributed tracing.
• Implement zero-trust access for internal/external systems and secure-by-default patterns.
• Collaborate with Security on secrets, policy-as-code, HIPAA and SOC 2 compliance.
