Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to maintain customer IBM i environments and drive migrations, with a focus on break/fix capacity, backups, and system optimization.

The role supports remote work from anywhere in the US and integrates with the managed services engineering team. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in IBM iSeries system administration, strong knowledge of i/OS, POWER hardware, and experience with MIMIX, PowerHA, and related tools.

Qualifications

• IBM iSeries Administration with 10+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3 and POWER hardware.
• Experience configuring LPARs and HMC; storage (JBOD/RAID/SAN).
• Experience with TCP/IP in IPv4 environments; journal management.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and requests with in-depth analysis and solutions.
• Proactively review issues to avoid future problems.
• Produce reports as required by the customer.
• Assist with OS upgrades, PTF deployment, and backups.
