Job summary

FNTS is seeking a Sr. IBM iSeries Engineer to join a managed services engineering team.

You will maintain IBM i environments, plan migrations via tape save/restore or replication, and expand customer environments, handling backups and break/fix activities as part of a proactive, security-conscious operations culture. Qualifications

• IBM iSeries System Administration with 10+ years experience.
• Knowledge of i/OS from V5R4 to V7R3.
• POWER systems hardware knowledge.
• Experience configuring LPARs using HMC.
• Storage management in JBOD, RAID, SAN environments.
• Experience defining and troubleshooting Printer configurations.
• Experience TCP/IP in IPv4 environment.
• Understanding of journal management.
• Software replication (MIMIX, iTera, PowerHA).
• CL programming and debugging.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents with in-depth analysis and solutions meeting SLAs.
• Review issues to proactively avoid future problems.
• Perform reporting functions as required by customers.
• Prepare DR testing/planning, OS upgrades, PTF deployment.
• Maintain IBM i OS and LPPs.
• Write and maintain system documentation.
• Assist customers with migration to FNTS/remotes management setup.
• Implement technologies per roadmap, e.g., Live Partition Mobility.
• Install OS releases with testing/implementation.
• Maintain golden/sandbox templates.
• Participate in projects as IBM i SME.
