Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join the Nuclear Power Group on a hybrid schedule, with in-office work three days per week at the Peachtree Corners, GA office. You will lead I&C design activities for major nuclear projects, including PLC/DCS work, control system specifications, and vendor interface.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in client meetings and site walkdowns, and contribute to documentation, design input, and system design

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
• 7+ years of experience in design engineering for process control systems
• Experience in design engineering for nuclear power plant control systems
• Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others
• PE license is valued but not required

Responsibilities

• Design and implement instrument and control systems for nuclear power projects
• Prepare FEED and procurement specifications for instrumentation and control components
• Develop P&ID’s and System Design Descriptions
• Prepare documentation for design input for drawings and cable block diagrams
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications
• Attend client meetings and perform site walkdowns
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers
• Support station outage activities as required
