Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced I&C Design Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Group in Kentucky. You will design, modify, and analyze instrumentation and control systems for new and existing power plants, working within project teams to meet objectives.

duties include preparing calculations, specs, and procurement documents, coordinating with vendors and clients, and mentoring less experienced engineers while aligning with schedule and budget constraints.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Five+ years of I&C design engineering experience.
• Experience with equipment selection, control philosophy, and design packages.
• Experience with controls system design for turbines, pumps, feedwater controls and data displays.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, modify, and analyze instrumentation and control systems for new and existing power plants.
• Prepare detailed calculations, including scaling, uncertainty, and setpoints for digital/analog controls.
• Interface with vendors and prepare equipment purchase specifications.
• Coordinate with clients and conduct site walkdowns to validate scope and satisfaction.
• Mentor junior engineers and support project management to meet schedule and budget.
