Job summary

McMillen, Inc. seeks a Senior Applied Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulic engineering efforts on large water resources projects, with emphasis on dams, energy, fisheries, infrastructure, or natural resources.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage client relationships, and drive technical excellence across feasibility, design, and construction phases. The role requires PE licensure, extensive experience, and the ability to travel up to 25% monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering.
• 20 years of experience in hydraulic engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions, meetings, and workshops for project teams and clients.
• Ensure multiple work elements produced by support staff meet established quality standards and project requirements.
• Initiate and lead marketing and business development pursuits.
• Identify and pursue opportunities with new and existing clients to support business growth.
• Prepare and oversee project deliverables, including reports, letters, technical memoranda, drawings, and specifications across multiple project components.
• Implement and lead technical and management QA/QC reviews for projects.
• Actively manage project and organizational risks associated with deliverables and work products.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic initiatives.
• Direct and delegate workloads effectively while holding staff accountable for performance and results.
• Train, evaluate, recruit, and mentor staff to develop future leaders.
