Job summary

McMillen, Inc. is seeking a Senior Applied Hydraulics Engineer to lead hydraulic engineering efforts for large water resources projects. The role emphasizes dam, energy, fisheries, infrastructure, and natural resources expertise with responsibilities spanning technical leadership, project delivery, and business growth.

You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, drive QA/QC, and contribute to marketing pursuits while traveling up to 25% to support clients across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil or Hydraulic Engineering.
• 20 years of experience in hydraulic engineering.
• 10 years of project management experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% monthly.

Responsibilities

• Lead discussions, meetings, and workshops for project teams and clients.
• Ensure QA/QC across deliverables per client requirements and policies.
• Initiate and lead marketing and business development pursuits.
• Identify opportunities with new and existing clients to growth.
• Prepare and oversee project deliverables (reports, letters, drawings, specs).
• Lead risk management for projects and organizational initiatives.
• Mentor staff to develop future technical and management leaders.
