Job summary

Walmart is seeking a skilled Technician, Facility Services (HVAC-Refrigeration) to install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems across commercial settings. You will interpret schematics, diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and lead field teams while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include servicing racks, walk-ins, and control panels; coordinating with external providers; and operating company vehicles within assigned regions.

Qualifications

• HVAC/R certification and 2 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls.
• Or 4 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC/R and building controls or related field.
• Hold and maintains Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
• Where required, HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle report; no major DUI/DWI/OUI in last 5 years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in last 3 years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in last 3 years.
• No serious traffic violations under FMCSA regulations in last 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems, including ductwork, control panels, and building pneumatics.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant-related issues in commercial and industrial equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and minimize downtime.
• Maintain and repair refrigeration units such as racks, walk-ins, and reach-ins.
• Conduct inspections and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local HVAC/R regulations.
• Lead and mentor field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
• Manage service calls, documentation, and coordinate with external providers as needed.
• Operate company vehicles safely to complete service assignments within assigned regions.
