Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Senior Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/Refrigeration, to lead the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC/R systems. The role oversees preventive maintenance programs, refrigerant handling, and field-team coordination to boost reliability and efficiency of facility systems.

The team focuses on safety compliance, cross-functional collaboration, and timely service delivery.

Qualifications

3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration.
6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration and Associate of Applied Science in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
Hold and maintain Type I and Type II or Universal EPA certification for refrigerant handling.
HVAC-R/ Mechanical Journeyman where required.
1 year’s experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area or 2 years’ Walmart store experience.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five years.
Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
No serious traffic violations as defined by FMCSA in the last three years.

Responsibilities

Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork, control panels, and refrigeration units.
Lead diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across commercial and industrial equipment.
Implement and monitor preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reduce downtime.
Manage refrigerant handling, ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and HVAC/R codes.
Coordinate and mentor field teams, providing hands-on training and evaluating skill development.
Maintain parts inventory, vendor relationships, and service schedules to meet business priorities.
Participate in on-call rotation to support critical operational needs outside regular hours.
