Job summary

Walmart is seeking a HVAC/R Service Technician to oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of store refrigeration and HVAC systems. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues across grocery rack refrigeration and commercial systems, while ensuring EPA and OSHA compliance.

The role includes leading field teams, providing hands-on training for technicians, managing on-call rotations, and coordinating parts and vendor services to meet store priorities.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal certification required.
• Commercial driving record within acceptable limits.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to pass MVR.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems and ductwork.
• Leads diagnostics from mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implements preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Manages supermarket refrigeration units and rack systems for performance.
• Submits work orders, logs, and maintenance reports; records notes with photos.
• Ensures OSHA and EPA compliance in field practices and documentation.
• Trains and mentors technicians; handles on-call incident responses.
• Coordinates with vendors and tracks parts and service contracts.
