Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer focused on HVAC and plumbing design for building projects. You will work with architects, civil, electrical, and structural engineers to coordinate and present design solutions.

Under supervision you will develop design documents from concept through construction, including system calculations and field surveys. You will also prepare schematic and construction documents, sizing and specifying HVAC and plumbing components, and collaborate with the design

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Minimum of 5 years in buildings design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.
• Typical office environment; field work possibly in weather.
• Knowledge of Building, energy and ASHRAE codes.

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical engineering skills to design and oversight of building projects.
• Produce design documentation, drawings, and calculations.
• Coordinate with design teams; attend client meetings.
• Develop schematic design through construction documents for HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Design water, sanitary, storm, diesel distribution, and gas systems.
• Perform system calculations and prepare energy models.
