Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a focus in HVAC and plumbing design for building projects. You will collaborate with architects and other engineers, provide design solutions, and assist in the preparation of design documents from concept through construction.

Ideal candidates have experience with HVAC/plumbing systems, software such as Revit and AutoCAD, and familiarity with codes and sustainability practices. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the buildings design industry preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.
• LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is preferred.
• Typical office environment; field work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Apply mechanical engineering skills to the design and oversight of building projects.
• Produce design documentation, drawings, and calculations.
• Share knowledge with team members as a resource.
• Meet technical, schedule, budget, and client service objectives.
• Develop client presentations related to projects.
• Maintain knowledge of technologies and design trends.
• Attend client meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Apply design and project management knowledge to meet requirements within time and budget.
• Perform water, waste, gas calculations and product specifications.
• Coordinate schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
• Design plumbing systems including water, sanitary, storm, diesel/gas distribution.
