Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on high-voltage transmission design for utilities. You will work on overhead and underground systems, applying standards like NESC and ASCE and contributing to bid documents, specifications, and procurement packaging.

The role emphasizes independent execution, use of PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, and collaboration with project teams, environmental and construction staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
Willingness to travel and work at client sites; team-oriented and able to work independently.
Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities for cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

Execute technical design and engineering tasks for high-voltage transmission lines in compliance with codes and standards.
Prepare and review technical drawings, specs, and calculations under guidance of Lead Engineers or PMs.
Perform engineering analyses including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
Learn and apply new tools, AI, and automation platforms to improve design processes.
Communicate project progress with PM to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
Maintain technical proficiency in industry software and Leidos design processes.
