Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a fast-paced, client-focused team. You will design HV overhead and underground transmission lines from 46kV to 345 kV, applying NESC and ASCE/ACI/AISC standards and producing bids, plans, and construction documents.

The role involves remote work with regular site visits across the client’s service territory, interfacing with planning, environmental, permitting, and project management personnel.

Qualifications

• Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4+ years in electric utility transmission design.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models and construction packages.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC and ASCE code requirements; material procurement and project scheduling.
• Ability to develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Team-focused yet capable of independent work and client communication.
• Travel to client sites may be required.

Responsibilities

• Engineer on HV transmission line design projects from 46kV to 345 kV.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specs, and procurement/construction packages.
• Interface with clients, planning, environmental, permitting, and construction teams.
• Apply applicable standards and perform engineering analyses.
