Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team solving challenging problems in electric transmission, including high‑voltage overhead and underground systems. The Senior Engineer will contribute on design projects for major utilities, applying standards such as NESC, ASCE, and ACI.

The role emphasizes independent execution using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE, with duties spanning design, analyses, drawings, specifications, and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication; travel may be required.
• EIT or PE certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute technical design and engineering tasks related to high-voltage transmission lines, ensuring codes and standards compliance.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations under guidance of Lead Engineers or PMs.
• Perform engineering analyses, including PLS-CADD modeling and structure loading calculations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by learning new tools, AI, and automation platforms.
• Coordinate project progress with the Project Manager to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
• Maintain technical proficiency in industry-standard software and Leidos design processes.
