Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to join a dynamic team tackling HV and EHV transmission projects, designing overhead and underground systems and applying standards. You will prepare plans, specifications, and procurement documents while interfacing with clients and project teams.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in transmission design, leadership experience, and the ability to travel as needed, with hybrid or remote options across the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with at least 4 years of HV/LV transmission design experience.
• Experience reviewing full transmission line designs including PLS-CADD models, foundations, material, plans and profiles.
• Knowledge of NESC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE code requirements; construction specs; material procurement; schedules.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
• Ability to work in a team environment but also independently.
• Proven ability to communicate with clients and project teams.
• Must have leadership experience and supervise others.
• Occasional client office work and travel may be required.
• Program Expertise: PLS-CADD and POLE; LPILE or FAD Tools; Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Design HV and EHV transmission line projects for overhead and underground systems.
• Prepare bidding documents, plans, specifications, and procurement/construction documents.
• Interact with clients, project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
